About 2 hours drive from Sanur and south of Tulamben, Amed is a fishing village bordered by black sand beaches.
It is a relaxing place and the dives are accessible from the beach or in a few minutes by traditional Balinese fishing boat, called "jukung".

At 10 min in Jukung (local fishing boat), you will arrive at one of two sites ranging from 5 to 60 meters deep. These dive sites offer gorgonians, sponges and corals as well as a multitude of nudibranchs and reef fish.
The first dive is on a drop-off where you can meet turtles, gray sharks, black tip or white tip sharks, grouper, humphead wrasse and humpback parrots.
The second dive on Jemeluk takes about twenty meters and ends on a vertiginous drop of about sixty meters provoking an exceptional contrast of colors and lights. You will also come across pyramids that are artificial reefs created about twenty years ago, after the passage of el nino. These reefs attract a lot of reef fish that come to protect themselves but also their predators.

On this site 3 km from Jemeluk, is a wreck placed 5 meters deep on the sand (ideal for snorkeling). This is the starting point and back of your scuba dive. This wreck is a small Japanese boat with a steel hull 20 meters long.
It is now beautiful since it is encrusted with gorgonians, sponges and black coral. The site on the edge of this shipwreck is very rich, and you will see among other reef fish, ghost fish, juvenile fish, shrimp, porcelain crabs and multitudes of nudibranchs...
