4 must-sees in Sanur

Sanur is a city located on the southern part of the island of Bali, a 30 minute drive northeast of the airport. Reputed for its tranquility, authenticity, restaurants, stores and many bars, Sanur was Bali's first tourist and beach destination in the early 1900s and is one of Bali's most livable towns with 4 kilometres of white sand beach.

  • Sindhu Night Market

Sindhu Night Market is a night market open from 4pm to 10pm. It is a great opportunity to try out Indonesian food, as it is mainly street food. You will find fresh vegetables, fish, meat and spices. We advise you to try the martabak (see video below), a sheet of brick filled with mutton, garlic, eggs, onion and young leeks. The authenticity and the prices of this local market delight newcomers.

  • Sanur Beach

Sanur Beach is a white sand beach. Very quiet compared to the beaches of Canggu and Seminyak for example, Sanur Beach is very popular for anyone wishing to relax by the sea. This place is also ideal for beginners and experienced surfers. You can enjoy the view of Mount Agung and the many jukungs (traditional Balinese boats) that line the sea and watch the sunrise while swimming in water temperatures ranging from 26 to 30°C.

  • Sanur's rice fields

In the centre of Sanur, you can admire the many colourful rice fields. The many footpaths between the rice fields make it possible to walk around. You will appreciate the peace and quiet of the course where parents and children gather at the end of the day for a walk.
