Bali is much more than beautiful rice paddies and temples. But the true magic of Bali is also discovered when you put your head underwater. The island boasts incredible biodiversity, and offers sumptuous coral gardens and incredible wildlife that anyone can explore, and only a few meters from the shore.

The best snorkeling spots in Bali:
Here we will tell you the best snorkeling spots that you absolutely must discover, whether you are looking for turtles, manta rays, shipwrecks or reef fish
2. Amed and Jemeluk Bay (East)
Amed and Jemeluk Bay, in the northeast of the island, are very famous places. Amed is known for its volcanic black sand beach that makes the corals even more colorful. In Jemeluk Bay, you'll find an underwater temple submerged in water, making it a great place to learn how to snorkel safely.
3. Tulamben and its wreck the Liberty
Located in the North-East of Bali, 20 minutes from Amed, take the road to Tulamben for a breathtaking immersion, you will have the opportunity to snorkel on a wreck dating from 1963 located between 5 and 28 meters where aquatic life has appropriated the place. This reef is therefore visible from the surface. It is a perfect spot to learn about snorkeling.
4. Blue Lagoon in Padang Bai (East)
Close to the port of Padang Bai, is Blue Lagoon, a lagoon with clear and shallow waters, ideal for snorkeling and observing clownfish (the famous "Nemo"), angelfish and sea turtles.
5. Manta Point in Nusa Penida (Southeast)
For an experience rich in emotions, we suggest Nusa Penida for a truly moving experience and meet the majestic manta rays that live here all year round to feed and be cleaned by small fish. The sight of these manta rays hovering beneath you is truly unforgettable.
6. Menjangan Island (Northwest)
Menjangan Island, located in the northwest of Bali, is truly a treasure of the Bali National Park. The waters are calm and visibility often exceeds 40 meters. The coral walls plunge steeply into the water, offering an impressive view even from the surface of the water. The little extra: You often come across wild deer on the beach before diving.
Before diving, you often have the opportunity to see wild deer on the beach.
Combining Snorkeling and Diving
If you go on vacation with divers in Bali, you have the chance to satisfy everyone since there are many dive sites where you can combine the both: Diving and snorkeling and enjoy the spot together
In fact, Bali's underwater topography often allows divers and snorkelers to be in the same place at the same time. Here are 2 examples of sites:
The USAT Liberty Wreck in Tulamben : This is one of the few places in the world where a 120-meter-long wreck is only 5 meters deep. Snorkelers can see the ship's structure from above, and divers can venture inside the holds at a depth of 20 meters
Crystal Bay and Manta Point in Nusa Penida : this is a beautiful site where the coral plateau is very close to the surface, ideal for snorkeling. Divers can descend lower to try to spot the famous sunfish (Mola Mola) in season. For Manta Point, divers will be below to admire the manta rays, while snorkelers will see them from the surface
Note to travellers: If you are planning a mixed outing, Bali Breizh Divers has a dedicated guide for each activity. Safety when snorkeling is just as important as when diving, especially in the face of the changing currents of the Nusa Penida!
So, are you ready to put on your fins? The island of Bali is waiting for you for a truly unforgettable adventure between land and sea.
